I am happy to help with your survey. Thanks for asking. Our biggest challenge right now is getting the people vote. The primary had such a small turnout . We need to encourage democrats to vote. Their votes have power even with the Republican attempt to redraw district lines and minimize their vote.
Every thing you have talked about doing to address the needs in our state are spot on. I only hope you can become governor to make it happen. A government of the people! 🌊✊
I’m not taking the survey because I don’t live in Alabama. I am interested because my family is from Alabama, as far back as 1820, in some cases.
What I wish people in Alabama ( and the rest of the nation) to know is that helping all the people in the state do better helps everyone. It is possible to do well by doing good.
When the poor have economic opportunity, they work harder and have hope for the future. They are more able to pay taxes and less likely to need help from the public sector. They keep the economy going by spending money. Earning a decent income allows people to support their families and raise children who become good citizens.
When health care is available to all, the population is healthier and better able to work.
When the population receives a strong education, it becomes possible for them to enter professions or skilled trades and to hold higher paying jobs. They are more likely to be well informed about health issues. They are statistically more likely to live long and healthy lives.
Too often politicians pit the hard-working almost-poor against those at the economic bottom. Benefits accessible to all could ease that sense of being left out, ignored, and exploited.
That the job of the governor is to improve the lives of Alabamians. You've already mentioned expanding Medicare/Medicaid whichever it is as part of the ACA.
Women have no bodily autonomy in this state. I've stopped selling homes because I cannot in good conscience write a contract for a home in a state where females are 2nd class citizens.
That you as a Democratic Candidate, need to win! I continue to express Tuberville CANNOT win as Governor! The illiterate, deranged, no concern about what the people needs and want, already at the WH that are spending up money for their personal desire! Get rid of Voting Suppression!
I don't live in Alabama, but all I ask is that you remind the citizens of Alabama that they lost the Civil War, and the rest of us would appreciate them living by the current laws of the United States, regardless of how the Confederate majority on the Supreme Court rules. As a citizen of California, which sends a lot of our federal tax dollars to Alabama, I feel this is not too much to ask.
Here’s a significant way to impact this fall’s elections. Our democracy has become an oligarchy, a government in which a small group exercises control, especially for corrupt and selfish purposes. Now is the time to initiate a grassroots campaign to pursue the following. Several Democrats and progressive organizations have compiled separate tax reform proposals. I envision having these proposals consolidated into one bill that will benefit the vast majority of Americans. Having a consolidated bill, "True Tax Reform 2026: The Sequel," introduced to Congress well before this fall's elections will very well influence who individuals vote for based on a candidate's view on this bill. Please share this with your Democratic congressional representatives and others.
This is a list of proposals that can be consolidated into one bill:
Keep Your Pay Act: Cory Booker
Equal Tax Act: Senators Edward Markey, Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, and Jeff Merkley
Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act: Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Rashida Tlaib
Make Billionaires Pay Their Fair Share Act: Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Ro Khanna
Tax on Extreme Wealth and For the 99.8% Act: Senator Bernie Sanders
Working Americans’ Tax Cut Act: Senator Chris Van Hollen and Representative Don Beyer
The Ultra-Millionaires Tax: Senator Elizabeth Warren, Representatives Brendan F. Boyle and Pramila Jayapal
Defund the Oligarchs Resolution: Senator Elizabeth Warren
American Homeownership Act: Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Jeff Merkley
21st Century ROAD to Housing Act: Senators Elizabeth Warren and Tim Scott
Billionaires Income Tax Act: Senator Ron Wyden and Representatives Donald Beyer and Steve Cohen
The Money Agenda 250: Patriotic Millionaires
The Five & Dime Tax: Tax the Greedy Billionaires
Executive Summary: Excessive Wealth Disorder Institute
Court of International Trade Tariff Refunds: Senators Ron Wyden, Edward J. Markey, and Jeanne Shaheen
The Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act of 2011: Senators Ron Wyden and Dan Coates
* Review provisions in H.R. 1 and executive orders- void and add provisions as needed.
Here's a novel idea. Remove power over elections from the hands of political parties and put it back where it's constitutionally required.
US Constitution
Section 4
Elections, Meetings
The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Place of Chusing Senators.
Alabama Primary Elections
You are NOT required to register with a party to participate in Alabama primary elections. However, you must declare a political party preference to receive that party’s primary ballot when you vote. If you do not wish to select a party when voting, you can vote on nonpartisan contests or measures, if there are any.
If parties controlling who is on primary ballots isn't controlling elections, then tell voters if they don't like who's on the party ballots, then just vote for Nonpartisan contests or measures is the same as telling us to go to hell.
How's this, I'm tired of my tax dollars printing partisan ballots. If political parties want to have partisan ballots, let them pay for them. Oh wait! That would still be unconstitutional too.
Article I, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution is crystal clear: the State Legislature is responsible for the "Times, Places and Manner" of holding elections. It doesn’t say a word about handing that keys over to a private club. When the state lets a political party dictate who can vote or what hoops they have to jump through, they are transferring authority they don’t have the right to give away. You can’t "sublet" constitutional power to a private entity.
2. The Taxpayer Receipt
There is zero authorization in the Constitution for the government to spend public tax dollars to facilitate the internal business of a private organization. Printing ballots, hiring poll workers, and renting space for a party to pick its "nominee" is an unlawful use of the public treasury. If a private club wants to pick a leader, they ought to pay for their own paper and ink. Using taxpayer money to fund a party’s "preference" ballot is a flat-out misappropriation of funds.
3. The "Membership Drive" Violation
The Constitution protects the individual’s right to association, and that includes the right not to associate. When the state forces a voter to "declare a preference" just to get a ballot, they are turning a public election into a forced membership drive. It forces a citizen to surrender their privacy and their independence just to participate in a process the state is already paying for with that citizen’s own tax dollars.
4. The "Private Club" Double Standard
Lawyers love to call parties "private associations" when they want to exclude people, but then they call them "public" when they want the state to pay for their elections. You can't have it both ways. If they are private, they pay their own way and stay out of the state-run election process. If they are public, they can’t demand a "declaration" or restrict access. The current setup is a "legal mambo-jumbo" shell game designed to keep the gatekeepers in power.
5. The Congressional Override
The Constitution gives Congress—not the courts—the power to "make or alter" the regulations regarding the manner of elections. Every time a court makes up a new "test" or "interpretation" to justify these party requirements, they are stepping on the toes of the legislative process. The document was ratified and stands as written; it doesn't need a judge to add "flavor" to it to make it work.
The Bottom Line:
The state is using your money to fund a private organization’s candidate search, then forcing you to join that organization’s "list" just to see the ballot. That isn't "Manner of Election"—that’s a state-sponsored racket.

What a wonderful request!
If only all office holders/candidates were as committed to hear from their constituents.
If I lived in your state I would vote for you as often as I could!
Carry on bravely.
Let's recruit more good Doctors! In rural Alabama there is one doctor and she is in Ft Gains GA over 70 years old and only works part-time.

Let me expand on this just a bit.
1. The "Subletting" of State Authority
